Glossybox Reviews

This post ain't going to be fancy because in writing it on the good ole phone.

I haven't actually blogged in a long time which brings me to the title of this post. I'm lacking motivation. In some ways I think I should find it myself but then I also wonder if it would help to have a proper kick up the arse.

I know once I get going it would be fun and I'd WANT to film and blog.

How do bloggers, vloggers and other youtubers build up enough courage to be themselves on camera? I know sure as Hell that I'm not being myself in any of my small amount of videos that I have made.

Also, how do you stand out from the crowd? Trust me, the beauty/fashion blogging world is mahoosive.

So many questions, nobody to answer them. I guess I shall have to keep trying. Maybe this will be my New Years resolution (yes, I know it's late. Shh!).

Not that anyone actually reads my blog but what would YOU like to see me do? Obviously not singing and dancing.

Maybe I can just post pictures and videos of my cats. People like cats.

I'm definitely one for searching out a good bargain. So when I spotted Aldi's own brand of cosmetics, Lacura, I was intruiged as Aldi tend to be a lot cheaper, but not necessarily good quality.
I went for the eyeshadow duo in colours 806 Orchid which has a creamy, off-white and a cocoa bean brown. I figured it would be more adaptable to other eyeshadows that I already owned.
I tested the product in store to check out the pigmentation and colour and I was actually quite impressed.
They both have a very slight shimmer, which is awesome as I'm not really one for sparkles on my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love sparkles.

I wouldn't use this product every day as I'm still addicted to my MUA palettes, but I may reach for it if I want to try something else. For £1.99 I'm not going to complain. Might try out some of their other products! :)

I was overly excited when I spotted this at the Barry M stall in Superdrug. I was heading towards a mint green colour but I think I made a good decision. I've not worn a black nail polish since I was going through my "emo" phase in secondary school. Since this has multi coloured glitter I thought it would be more glamour than goth.

I applied it as I was sunbathing and that was a bad decision, somehow the pure sunlight made the polish somewhat gloopy and didn't apply well.
I'm going to re-apply again at some point, maybe with a few colours painted a pastel colour since I'm loving the pastels! Check out my other blog post on pastel nail polishes :)
Anyway, it turned out thick and bubbly and I tried ever so hard to apply using multiple thin layers. I always find that works best.

I'm not going to insert a picture of my nails as they turned out so badly but here's a pretty picture of the bottle. It can be purchased from most Boots and Superdrug stores at £2.99 each. Superdrug have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment so I may have to stock up!

I've seen a lot of MUA products floating around YouTube so I decided to check it out as they seem rather spiffing and oh so affordable.

I've only bought two items and I can honestly say they are unbelievably good quality for the cheap price!

First product that arrived was the eyeshadow palette called Heaven & Earth. I've been looking for a brown/natural palette for a while and didn't want to spend nearly £40 on the Urban Decay Naked.
The pigmentation is really good and is very buildable. There's also a colour in it that I've been using for my brows so it's multi-purpose. At £4 you can't really argue!

The second product was a first for me, a BB cream. As I've never used one before I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I figured it would just be like a foundation but lighter coverage. I was wrong, this BB cream is very much like a foundation but it conceals and makes my skin look smooth. I didn't have a need to use my concealer at all. Such a lazy product and I love it! I'm still in love with my Rimmel Wake me up foundation so I shall probably just switch between the two. Also at £4, this BB cream is fantastic value for money.

Both can be bought here and also in Superdrug if you can't bear to wait for delivery.

I've been loving pastel nails recently. Especially the blues and pinks.
Even though the weather has been shoddy I still think you should release your inner Summer you.
I've been particularly liking the random colours, i.e. painting your nails all blue except one or two pink. I've done this in the picture below and I love it!

Excuse the poor attempt at painting my nails, I'm no expert.

The blue is by China Glaze in colour 1030 Kinetic Candy and the pink is by Barry M in the colour 309 Strawberry.

Hey everyone.
This is my first GlossyBox and I was, shall we say, satisfied with it.

First thing I noticed was the Inika Eyeliner Pencil. This got me excited.
I then saw the name of the colour... "peacock blue". Oh dear.
I would of preferred a dark brown or black but I guess it's something different if I'm feeling brave.
It's very shimmery and applies smoothly. As for the wear, I'm not sure how long it lasts but it seems like excellent quality.
It's the full size and costs £11.75 per liner.
Swatch below.

Next off, I picked up the CaudalĂe S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum.
I'll admit, I never use serums but this gives me a chance to try one out. I have darkness under the eyes so I'm hoping this will brighten them up a tad.
I got 10ml and the full size is 30ml at a price of £29.00

The third item is an Ayuuri natual body wash in coconut enriched with Wild Indian Jasmine and Aloe Vera.
This is not my sort of scent so I will give this away.
From what I can see it looks really rich, creamy and indulgent.
I got 200ml and the full size is 235g for £4.95

This has to be my favourite of the box.
Figs & Rouge lip balm in Rambling Rose.
This lip balm smells so good and is very moisturising. Usually I have to keep applying chapstick but this lasts for ages! The packaging is pretty too with its vintagey look.
I got the full size of 8ml and it costs £3.49. Definitely going to repurchase!

Lastly is the item I was most displeased about, a perfume oil sample.
The brand is Kai, which I've never heard of before and the scent is a "light, intoxicating blend of gardenia wrapped in white exotics". Basically, it smells like plants. I don't mind a fruity fragrance with flowery undertones but this is anything from light.
Full size is £41.00 for 3.6ml

Looking forward to May's edition!

"Conditions and protects for younger looking hands"

I was given this product by my mother as she doesn't really use these sorts of things.
Yes, it's for "younger looking hands" but to me, a hand cream is a hand cream.

First off, the packaging isn't huge. It comes in a 25ml ivory coloured squeezy tube which makes it great for just chucking in your bag.
Upon researching the product I've found that it has changed to a white 75ml tube, which is not surprising as I've had this one for ages and it's still not all gone!

Onto the product.
It has SPF 15, which is great for those who believe and want to avoid premature ageing of the hands.
The actual product itself is amazing, it absorbs super fast and doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy.
I do kind of wish it was a bit scented, it says it's unscented but to me it smells like babies and regular old soap which isn't that exciting.

I recommend this product to those who use their hands a lot in their day to day life and don't want them to dry out.
